PEFC Certifikat

Certificat No. HFA-CoC-0761
according to PEFC ST 2002:2013

PEFC is a transparent and independent system for ensuring sustainable forest management and thus a global "forest certification". PEFC is the abbreviation for "Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes".

Chain of Custody (CoC) certification according to PEFC rules is used to trace certified material from the forest to the end product to ensure that wood, wood fibres and non-wood products in the product can be traced back to the certified forest.

An essential part of the PEFC scheme is to ensure that claims (certification statements) for products whose ingredients come from sustainably managed forests are credible and verifiable throughout the certification chain. The system is used to certify facilities along the entire value chain of wood products.

The standard on chain of custody of wood products (PEFC ST 2002:2013) is the basis for describing the operational processes in a facility that trades, produces or processes wood and wood products along the value chain.

All solid original reclaimed wood products are PEFC certified!

Formaldehyde - emission class E1

Classification of formaldehyde limits
according to EN 717-1

Our original reclaimed wood laminated products meet the new formaldehyde limits in accordance with the German Chemicals Prohibition Order (ChemVerbotsV).

With regard to the German Chemicals Prohibition Order annex 1 (to annex 3) (ChemVerbotsV BGBI I S.94), coated and uncoated wood materials sold on the market from 01 January 2020 must meet the limit values of 0.1 ppm and 0.124 mg/m3 required for emission class E1. According to the Federal Gazette, published by the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection on 26 November 2018 (Banz AT 26.11.2018 B2), the results generated by applying EN 717-1 must be multiplied by a factor of 2.0.

Using a standardised procedure, Holzforschung Austria analysed our laminated wood products for formaldehyde emissions in accordance with Austrian standard ÖNORM EN-717-1 using the acetylacetone method.

In the case of the original reclaimed wood laminated product analysed, values of 0.01 mg/m3 or 0.008 ppm are achieved.

These therefore meet the requirements of the German Chemicals Prohibition Order and correspond to emission class E1.

Classified fire behaviour!

Classified fire behaviour

Benefit from reclaimed wood with classified fire behaviour!

Many of our clients work in the building industry and construction sector. Standards and classifications, in particular fire resistance, form the basis for the application of all building materials.

In the case of original reclaimed wood products, which naturally have very individual properties, it is often not easy to meet standards that are tailored to standardized products. Of course, we have nevertheless tried to find a solution for our customers!

In a complex and lengthy process, we have had the fire behaviour of our products classified in accordance with ÖNORM EN 13501-1: 2007 + A1: 2009 together with the Institute for Fire Protection Technology and Safety Research (IBS). The various original reclaimed wood surfaces were tested and classified in standardized test arrangements. Therewith, the reclaimed wood 3-layer products can be used in any public construction project that requires a verifiable fire behaviour!
